Zodia Markets, the institution first digital asset brokerage needed an interim Chief Marketing Officer to bridge the gap while they recruited someone in-house.

Having completed the brand framework and visual language in Q1 2023, CEO Usman Ahmad got in touch to ask if we could step in.

They needed someone senior, on a part-time basis who could look at the business holistically and build a strategic plan, while still maintaining the day-to-day drumbeat of external and internal communications.

The BIG solution

Emma Critchley-Lloyd, Founder of BIG little LDN, jumped at the chance of working with the Zodia Markets team again. It was a chance to take the brand she helped create to the next level, by shaping the strategy and developing communications that brought "Crypto Without Compromise" to life across every aspect of the business, from sales to HR.

Working just two days a week, there was no time to waste. Zodia Markets needed maximum impact from day one.

Having spent her career in agencies and running her own small business, Emma has mastered the art of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Equally, working with clients across diverse sectors, means she's developed the unique ability to understand a new businesses, their objectives, and the market they operate in very quickly.

Leveraging her existing knowledge of the brand, Web3 and digital assets, Emma spent day one understanding the intricacies of a stablecoin trade and drafting a press release in time for the announcement to be made at Token2049. Alongside this, were several other press releases which needed drafting, as well as project managing and executing co-branded partner activity.

Other tasks included:

  • Creating a single calendar view of all marketing activity, across all channels and developing a coherent strategy.
  • Creating a social posting plan complete with captions and supporting assets, in line with brand guidelines.
  • Inputting into the CRM strategy.
  • Launching 'Trading Weekly' LinkedIn newsletter.
  • Implementing a Menopause Policy and a "Steal our policy" campaign for World Menopause Awareness Day.
  • Ensuring a regular drumbeat of internal communications both to staff and SC Ventures.
  • Regular communication with partners, seeking further co-branding opportunities.
  • Maximising existing co-branded content - e.g. transforming podcast transcripts into articles.
  • Deepening relationships and securing interviews with journalists.
  • Creating a new sitemap reflective of the business today and direction for 2025.
  • Drafting new copy for the website and redesigning pages using Adobe XD.
